About Our Hostel

We are located downtown at the corner of 7th and H Streets, one block from the city bus station and six blocks from the train station. Cab fare from the airport is around $20.

Dormitory beds are $25 per night. Private rooms, when available, start at $60 per night. Hostellers can bring their own sleeping bags or use the linen provided. During the summer season we have a maximum stay of five nights when you come into the state and an additional maximum stay of five nights when you are leaving Alaska.

Both Private rooms and Dormitories (three to eight beds per room) are accessible during the day after cleaning. For your security, each floor of rooms will be locked at 1 a.m. for curfew. We will accomodate travelers arriving late into Anchorage International Airport withing reason.

Anchorage International Hostel has separate dorms for men and women with some exceptions when requested by a group. Bathrooms are gender specific. Limited storage is available to registered guests only.

Hours of Operations:

Summer Hours: May 1-September 30
Office: Open 7 a.m.-12 noon then 4 p.m.-1 a.m.
Curfew: 1 a.m. curfew in affect every day. Outer doors are locked at 1 a.m.
Cleaning: From 12 noon-4 p.m. the room floors are locked for cleaning and maintenance. Floors open at 4 p.m.
Late Airport Arrival: Inform ofice staff for access past 1 a.m.

Parking: Unfortunately the hostel does not provide parking. There are several for-pay parking lots around the hostel. Parking on the street at the meters is free between 6 p.m. and 9 a.m. on Monday-Thursday and all day on weekends unless otherwise indicated.


Shopping: Just a couple blocks away is a multistoried mall. There are two other shopping centers about 10 blocks away from the hostel and groceries within walking distance. Anchorage has several large shopping malls and most national store chains. Since we are located downtown, the hostel is surrounded by individual gift, nature and outfitter shops and some of the best dining hotspots around.
